This CD features a diverse blend of jazz showcasing Sean's arranging skills and compositions. From a unique take on the Beatles' "And I Love Her" to a funky/bluesy version of the R&B one hit wonder "Ooh Child" this album is full of surprises and fresh ideas. Members of Bay Jazz Project include multi WAMMY award winner Seth Kibel on tenor sax and flute, much in demand bassist, Bob Abbott, incredibly versatile Wes Crawford on drums and soulful Justine Miller on trumpet and flugelhorn. Joining Sean and BJP are several guest artists. National recording artist, Smooth Jazz sax great Walter Beasley plays soprano sax on Sean's "Pleasant Bay Nightside". Soulful Washington DC vocalist Mary Ann Redmond gives her personal treatment to the R&B classic "Ooh Child". A Stephen Foster tune is arranged by Sean to showcase Washington DC singer/songwriter/bassist Eric Scott. All in all, there's something for everyone on "Runnin' to Riverside", the latest CD by Sean A. Lane and Bay Jazz Project.
