SEAN A. LANE BRINGS JAZZ DIVAS TO “JAZZ AT THE POWERHOUSE”

Annapolis, MD – February 12, 2007 - Sean A. Lane will bring together three Jazz Divas for an unforgettable evening on Saturday, March 3rd, 2007.  Sean’s very special guest is Baltimore’s modern-day jazz matriarch, Miss Ruby Glover.  Miss Glover along with Justine Miller and Scottie Preston will be performing at the Powerhouse at the Loews Annapolis Hotel.   The event is an expansion of Loews “Jazz at the Powerhouse” series.

“I thought bringing three different and dynamic female jazz singers together to share their songs and stories would be a unique way to celebrate ‘National Women’s History Month.’” explains Sean.  Miss Glover has had the opportunity to meet some of the great women of jazz, like Billie Holiday and Carmen Mc Rae. Ruby’s entertaining story-telling & scat singing draws audiences into the music.  To continue the mix, Justine Miller brings her powerful vocals, energetic trumpet, and magnetic presence to the stage.  Scottie Preston, with her soulful sounds and artistic story-telling, leave audiences wanting more!

Bay Jazz Project, Sean Lane (piano), Seth Kibel (sax), Bob Abbott (bass) and Mark Lucas (drums) will accompany these “Women of Note” in jazz standards, blues favorites, and R & B classics.  Sean, along with the Bay Jazz Project, have been nominated for two 2006 Washington Area Music Association “Wammie” Awards for:
Best Jazz Instrumentalist
Best Jazz Duo/Group

Loews Annapolis Hotel is located at 126 West Street in Annapolis, MD. Doors open at 7:00 PM and show time is 8:00 PM. The cover charge is $20 in advance $25 at the door.
